Thankyou for your message and I totally agree that Maths is crucial for engineers. However, not all engineering disciplines and roles require same level of mathematical proficiency. This is what has to be kept in mind to remove barriers from success. The level of mathematical expertise required from an engineer in sales role, or production role is hugely different from the one doing stress engineering or control systems design. So there is a place for the different levels of capability .
