2020 Granpa Sam’s Quarantine

Now I hear the jab is out

What is this place called quarantine?

How come, it’s somewhere I’ve never been

60 years of my jolly life

Now you lock me with my only wife

Yes, I’ve got problems with my heart

but for that, she plays a major part

Travelling was all I had

I bet COVID can’t be that bad

you say it is better for me

how cruel phases of life can be?

the first couple of days inside

wife, chores and nowhere to hide

eventually, I knew I had to give in

played the vacuum, emptied the bin

to my surprise, it made her smile

we became friends for a little while

as I put my efforts on repeat

quarantine became somewhat a treat

now I hear the covid jab is out

this year made me realize, what I can't live without

we shall be the first inline

not for me but for mine
